Riding the bus.
I like to observe. I’m a people-watcher. On the bus rides home, I take a look at everyone within my sight range, and play this mental game with myself. I like to imagine what their lives are like when they’re not riding the bus to their destination. I wonder if they’re secretly struggling with issues, yet they don’t want to burden others with their dilemmas. I wonder about...
…When the robbery happened, I think they took my flashdrive too. I remember I had it sitting on top of my bookshelf and it’s not there anymore. All my photos from high school, as well as my past assignments/essays, were stored on there. My projects, my scholarship essays, my documents, everything.
I’m just distraught, sad, and frustrated. Seriously, why on Earth would they take...
Grades.
They’ve always been the grand pedestal I’ve stood upon for as long as I can remember. Up until college, I guess I’ve prided myself on my academic success. Books are my life. Learning is my life. I don’t like talking about grades - good or bad. They’re usually something I keep to myself, for my own personal reasons. That way, I cannot blame my failings on no one but...
Discouraged, and it just keeps comin'.
Not to sound so..."American".
I know that the events that have been happening in Japan are extremely tragic and my prayers go out to the country and any family associated with the natural catastrophic incidents; but I wonder whether that many countries who have helped them, came to our aid when Hurricane Katrina hit the U.S.
But detachment doesn’t mean you let the experience penetrate you. On the...

But I get dizzy, and end up falling asleep. Think of all that precious time being wasted - as a passenger in the car, or on the bus.

I know that all this extra effort I’m putting into my studies, the late/sleepless nights, the tears from stress, and my grumpiness will be worth it
Just a thought.
I read a news article online earlier - about Japan’s earthquakes and watched a video DW posted up. What on Earth is going on? While we have monsoon-like weather over here, the other side of the world is experiencing earthquakes. I don’t think 2012 is the year the world will end. Now, I think it’s merely a label for the accumulation of all catastrophic events that have been...
I love it when life grants perfect timing.
For instance, when you make eye contact with a charming and attractive stranger…and get a smile in return. Though you may never see that person again nor ever speak to that person, one look can express everything words are capable of and more. Definitely my moment of the day.
Of all things at this hour,
I contemplate about death. I’m not suicidal, mind you. But I often do catch my thoughts dancing around the notion of death, especially since my cousin occasionally talks to me about it. I wonder, isn’t life/death paradoxical in a way? “We live to die, we die to live”. Hm, sure seems like someone is saying the ultimate goal is either life or death (with other small goals...

The little one finally has a phone.
He’s a 7th grader now - and he finally got what he wanted: a cell phone. He was texting me throughout the day. Though I couldn’t see his facial expression, I can feel his excitement. He’d text me oddball things just for the heck of it. I mean, the kid is already texting in class. Sure, almost everyone has a phone these days. But for my little brother, it was one of the most...

I’ve noticed that several of my followers are Miyazaki fans, so I thought I share this little tidbit of information with you about Spirited Away.
I always wondered why the symbol “ゆ” (said “yu”) was on the door to the bath house. I asked my Japanese teacher, and he…
Judging a book by its cover.
Earlier, I stumbled across the tumblr of a “well-known” person. By well-known, I mean that he’s one of those people everyone…seems to know of - if not, befriends. The predisposed assumption I had of him before my recent discovery was that: he hangs out in clubs, a popular photographer, a Husky, Asian, and is friends with people who party/drink frequently. Just another guy...
I just returned from the filming of America’s Got Talent at the Paramount Theater. Jumpstart had the opportunity to be in the audience during the live auditions. We got in for free; but in exchange for this experience, we couldn’t bring in any electronics. Out of the many acts that were on stage, I’d say only three of them deserved to go to Vegas. The majority of them...

Opportunities and regrets.
There’s a quote (I can’t quite recall the exact words) that says something about not taking an opportunity when given. There’s another quote that talks about individuals searching for an ideal boyfriend or girlfriend, that they completely overlook who they have right under their nose.
Girls are always searching for that sweet guy - who will do chivalrous acts for them, remember...

tzenglishmuffin:
today, i said goodbye to my uncle buu. we cremated him today after he had passed almost a week and half ago. throughout all the visits i was sad, but i always found comfort knowing i could see him the next day. everyday i visited him, lit incense for him and told him how my day was and thanked him…

Midterms.
I am tired. I am grumpy. I am disoriented. I am sleep-deprived. I am stressed. I am nervous. I am distracted. I feel disconnected. I feel short-tempered.
This all adds up to: midterms and a need for better studying habits.
Selfless deeds require the sacrifice of...
"You've changed".
You’ve changed.
The morals we stand by aren’t quite as similar anymore. You’re doing different things now, and acquiring new interests post-high school. What you do isn’t bad, but didn’t we agree that there are other ways to have fun besides clubbing and taking shots here and there? I was surprised when people told me. But I guess it’s been said that...
